Kuan Yin- Mother of Compassion, by Mumtaz Sodha

Kuan Yin 1

Kuan Yin is the greatest of bodhisattvas and embodies the totality of compassion for humanity. For centuries, Kuan Yin has epitomized the great ideal of Mahayana Buddhism in her role as “bodhisattva (Chinese “p’u-sa)–literally “a being of Bodhi, or enlightenment,” who is destined to become a Buddha but has foregone the bliss of Nirvana with a vow to save all children of God. Kuan Yin carries the Goddess and Divine Mother aspect of Buddhism.

I wake up heavy with despair for my own viewed failures and that of the world. All I could see was the despair reflecting out in so many forms. Children and families being injured and dying, homes being burnt, our Gaia its animals and creatures disappearing, our rivers and streams being poisoned. I cry at her pain and I feel her despair that humans cannot get along, and that those in power are so deluded by their greed that they see nothing else but their own transitory gain. Yet even in their gain, there is loss, too blinded to see the illusion that they are in. My body aches, my heart is broken. I find it hard even to scramble out of bed.

Sobbing on my knees ask her what can I do?

‘There is so much devastation I cannot take it dear mother, I cannot bear the pain. What can I do?’

Even my knees cannot withstand the aching in my bones as I feel the pain of all of humanity, Gaia and her creatures. I roll over with head to the floor, tears stream create pools on the carpet. I feel her hand on my head as she strokes my hair. She takes my hand and pulls me to a sitting position.

Kuan Yin 2Through my watery eyes I see her, her beauty and magnificence are radiance she glows with such intense love that my heart is soothed and I stop crying. She places her hand on my heart and I feel a warm comforting feeling taking over my body relaxing me deep within each and every cell.

She then turns to me and says;

‘Come my Divine child, let me show you something.’

She covers me with her silken robes and we are transported up into the Universe. She takes me to the top of Gaia Mother Earth where we sit. She swirls her hands in a clockwise motion with her and there in front appears a beautiful large deep pink lotus flower. She gestures to me to come and we sit in the lotus flower itself.

‘Now here my child close your eyes, and tell me what can you feel?’

I close my eyes and instantly I feel a deluge of emotions of hate, greed, anger, pain, fear, loss, grief and apathy.

‘So what can you feel?’

‘I feel hate, greed, anger, pain, fear, loss, grief and apathy.’ I reply.

‘Do you not feel the love, joy, bliss, contentment, peace and faith?’

I look at her, in surprise and anger. ‘Are you just completely deluded?’ I shout in a rage that even surprises me. She looks at me in bemusement and then replies.

‘No it is you who is deluded.’

Her luminous soft eyes turn to me with love yet sternness

‘You are allowing your own ego to reflect all that you see in the world. Yes there is destruction and there is pain, yet there is also the opposite. The more you allow the darkness to take over you, the dimmer your light becomes. How can you become a beacon of light to others of you yourselves become so occupied by the pain that you can no longer function. Some think that it is weak to love, weak to keep the heart open despite the pain. That is shows weakness as you are not acting. I am not saying that you should not act, however when you do act out of love. Love in action is Divine. Action without love is karmic. Every karmic action has a reaction, and you are then bound by these consequences. Yet when action is surrendered in love to the Divine is it pure love.’

‘What are you saying Mother that I should do nothing.’

Kuan Yin 3

‘No I am saying that you need to go within to a place where love and peace reside, then you act. You should not get carried away by the collective consciousness, you need to keep your heart open despite the pain and fear, despite the doubt. To allow that love to guides you into action. This way you become the beacon of light for those that comes to you and you then are the instigator of change of consciousness for humanity.’

‘This is not an easy task dear one, this is why light workers have been sent to this beautiful Gaia at this point so that you help elevate human consciousness. However some light workers have become distracted by rescuing others and allowing their energy to become lower. I am not saying that you should not help others, yet you have learn to discern as many people will seek you out to suck on your energy to elevate themselves at your detriment.’

‘Have you not thought that maybe they are feeding you this news and all the information that they do so that they get this kind of reaction. To keep distracted, the darkness does not want you to light up the world as if you did, you shed light on it.’

Kuan Yin        I look at her as she continues.

 ‘Whatever you concentrate on grows, so if you concentrate on pain it grows and if you concentrate on peace it grows. You can only cultivate that within yourself first, you cannot give others what you do not have. However that does not mean that you cannot act out of love, even if you do not possess peace as peace may come through loving action.’

She then puts both her hands on my shoulder and looks into my eyes, they are deep with love and compassion like stars within an ever expanding universe.

‘I know this is not easy but please call on me when you need me, there is so much support and love for you but without asking we cannot help. I am always with you dear one.’

As she says this, the understanding of her wisdom reaches my heart and I feel that connection with the love in the world. She points to the Earth as I feel the love, I can see diamond rays that envelope the earth through its crystal grids that form a protective layer.

She says, ‘This crystal grid is formed from all those that are mindfully cultivating love. See how it is helping Gaia?’ Then she turned to me and speaks softly;

‘You must not become disheartened and if you do then ask for guidance and it will come. For you do not see the bigger picture of all that is, there are many that are helping and contributing, on Gaia itself and also from the other dimensions.’

She takes my hands and we both repeat Om Mani Padme Hum, Bless the Lotus heart of love and peace for all Humanity Gaia and her creatures. So Be it.
