(magical realist comedy)
Our Kid Jesus is about a single parent family on a Manchester council estate under siege by poverty, bailiffs, and the far right trying to convince the son JD to join them against anyone who isn’t English. When the daughter bangs her head during an altercation with a bailiff, she wakes up believing she is Jesus and is on the brink of being sectioned. Only her brother, JD, has other ideas for his sister and soon the community centre is a shrine to a whole new type of guru.
